GUJRAT, Dec 14: Seventeen candidates of different political parties filed their nomination papers for two vacant provincial assembly seats here on Saturday.

The names of the aspirants who filed their papers for PP-110 are; Raja Basharat (former provincial law minister) of the PML-Q, Tariq Javed Chaudhry and his covering candidate Syed Ali Turab of the PPP, Hafiz Amjad Shaheen of the MMA and an independent candidate, Rizwan Israr Rathore.

Twelve candidates filed their nomination papers for PP-112. Interestingly, five covering candidates filed their papers for the PML-Q candidate Syed Faizul Hasan Shah. They are; Ali Imran, Liaquat Bhadar, Malik Akbar Ali, Zulfiqar Ali and Advocate Muhammad Idrees. Besides them, Zia Mohyuddin and Javed Iqbal of the PPP, Ihsanullah Shah and Sheikh Nawazish of the MMA, Saifur Rahman Bhatti of the PAT and Qaiser Shahzad filed nomination papers as an independent candidate.
