ABBOTTABAD, Dec 15: Provincial Minister for Local Bodies and Rural Development Sardar Mohammed Idrees has said that the NGOs will have to get permission from the respective departments before initiating any project or scheme.

This he stated while speaking as chief guest at the Meet the Press Programme at the press club here on Saturday.

The minister said that the government was not against the NGOs but would not allow anyone to weaken the state machinery. If any NGO would want to work in health, education or any other field it would be required to get prior permission from the respective department to avoid the duplication of work and the motives of the NGOs would also remain under check, he added.

Moreover he warned the corrupt officials saying that the MMA government had given one month time to them after which it would not spear anybody.

About the Galyat Development Authority, which was placed under the control of the district government, he said that the government would review its status.

He said that all the funds for the GDA would be utilized for the development of the Galyats and the government had planned to establish a new sector where 50 per cent plots would be given to the local people while the rest would be auctioned out.
