CHITRAL: Pandemonium at MMA Eid Milan

Published December 16, 2002

CHITRAL, Dec 15: A pandemonium broke out at the Eid Milan party of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) held in the auditorium of Government Commerce College here on Sunday when MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali accused District Nazim Shahzada Mohyuddin of corruption.

The gathering went further unruly when the district Nazim rose instantly and tried to pay the Maulana in the same coin.

The Nazim eulogised his own services which he said he had rendered for the people in his capacity as the MNA and chairman of district council. But the two public representatives were pacified by the participants and the order was restored.

Speaking on the occasion, the Maulana said merit would be the sole criterion in the future and the coterie of certain influentials would be discouraged.

He said the government functionaries would have to serve the people.

Criticizing the district Nazim, the MMA MNA said that to achieve his personal ends, the district Nazim was doing all that which was unbecoming of his position and office.
