KASUR, July 7: Robbers deprived a family of gold, cash and other valuables worth Rs2.75 million in Pattoki’s City police precincts on Saturday.

Four robbers entered the house of Muhammad Shahzad near Old Mandi early on Saturday morning and held the family hostage.

They took away 40-tola gold ornaments, Rs250,000, prize bonds worth Rs170,000 and three cell phones.

SNATCHED: Robbers disguised as passengers deprived a driver of his taxi and injured him for putting up resistance near Pattoki bypass in Pattoki police precincts.

Muhammad Fiaz of Lahore hired Ali’s taxi from Thokar Niaz Beg to Pattoki. He asked Ali to stop near Pattoki bypass and accommodate more passengers.

As Ali stopped his taxi, two armed men held him and tried to snatch his vehicle. They shot him injured when he put up resistance and took away his taxi. Ali was taken to THQ Hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.

DRUGS SEIZED: Phoolnagar police arrested two drug pushers and seized 20kg hashish from them near Parnawan Bridge late on Friday night.

Police stopped a car at a picket, seized 20kg hashish and arrested car occupants Mahboob Alam and Zulfiqar, residents of Lambay Jageer.
