GC Sialkot in final

LAHORE, Dec 17: Government College Sialkot, entered the final of the Punjab University Inter-Collegiate women badminton championship, beating Punjab University Teaching Department (PUTD) 3-1 at the university’s Old Campus Gymnasium Hall Tuesday.

Earlier, two more matches in the team’s competition were held in which APWA College won both to qualify for the semifinal which will be played against Nusrat Jamia, Rabwah on Wednesday followed by the final.

Results:

Sialkot College beat PUTD 3-1 (semifinals): Sana Asghar bt Amutul Jameel 11-0, 11-2; Yasmin lost to Shagufta 11-3, 11-0; Sana Asghar and Yasmin bt Amutul Jameel-Shagufta 15- 6, 15-7; Sana Asghar bt Shagufta 11-0, 11-2.

Group matches.

APWA College defeated Government Samanabad College 2-0.

Mariam bt Saada 11-4, 11-7; Mariam-Meena bt Shamyla -Saadia 15-7, 15-4.

APWA College defeated Government College, Sheikhupura 2-1.

Humaira lost to Rizwana 11-3, 11-8; Mariam-Meena bt Rizwana- Amna 15-6, 15-7. Meena bt Amna 11-0, 11-4.
