NEW YORK, July 22: A new ABC television series being released this autumn opens with a premise that a US nuclear powered submarine captain defies White House orders to wipe out Pakistan with nuclear weapons, as it’s deemed a threat to international peace and security.
In the new series ‘Last Resort’, the submarine ‘Colorado’ is equipped with nuclear warheads which are considered capable of destroying countries, which is a fact. The fiction is the premise to destroy Pakistan!
However, as the drama unfolds in a dramatic twist the ships Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House.
This puts his second-in-command Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) under the spot as his handed over the charge of the submarine and has to make the same decision, which he turns down. Upon Kendal's refusal to shoot the nuclear missiles at Pakistan, the submarine is targeted, fired upon, and hit.
The crew are then declared rogue enemies of their own country.
Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the ‘Colorado’ to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.
The series is being heavily promoted by the production company in movie theatres this summer. It is scheduled to be released in October-November.

Nuclear weapons are not toys to be played with by adult children. And the technology is not at Hiroshima/ Nagasaki level. This film is exploring dangerous territory even if it did not mention Pakistan by name. Any use of nuclear weapons by two nuclear states against each other will be catastrophic and most likely spell the end of human life as it is on this planet.
By the way using nuclear weapons against US bases in the Arabian Gulf will surely destroy the bases AND the entire population of these countries. Tariq Sahib needs to be careful in choosing targets for his fantasy weapons.

Hmmm, On the contrary if this were a propaganda movie the whole ship would not have revolted against it. I am guessing the theme of the movie aint either Pakistan or America rather the 100 something people on the sub. And the fact that two of the captains defied orders says something!! If I did not know better I had go with the theory that it was a PR campaign for Pakistan!.

These are the tactics of their intelligence agencies to put down the moral of Pakistan ,, They need to realize that every one is not Zardari or PPP member in this country. we will retaliate in stronger way ..They cannot even come face to face with Iran who doesn't even have nukes,, you think they will face us,,besides weapons you need faith to fight against some one and that we have.

Two ways to look at this:
1) Conspiracy theory, whole the world after Pakistan and so on and so on...(i would be quiet skeptical on saying that the CT does not at all exists).
2) A way to market the viewing hits of the television serial to gain more advertisement and etc and etc.
Both cannot be ruled in or ruled out....

Not sure what trailer you're looking at. The map at 1:17 is based on ground realities - regardless of claims.
eg.
- it shows Gilgit Baltistan as Pakistani. I may disagree with whether that should be the case, but that is ground reality.
- it does NOT show Azad Kashmir as part of Pakistan because this time, whether you agree with it or not, it is again ground reality.

If you really look at it, this series is just showing who is the aggressor and most dangerous for the peace of the world, the one with deadliest of weapons or the one poor country who is fighting to survive let alone have the capability to destroy America or any other country for that matter. It is obvious the most dangerous is the one with the deadliest of weapons which has the reach to destroy any country in the world (Iraq and Afghanistan already destroyed).

Just reviewed the trailer. Chillingly noticed the sized up Pakistani map shown in the scenes sans FATA, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Is this just a TV serial or a propaganda / psy ops campaign!!!

Relax guys. It's Hollywood. They are in entertainment business and the Gung Ho American Public loves watching women children from these third world impoverished countries running around for covers while the greatest military might history has ever witnessed is on display. They just can't get enough of their new baby happily named Predator Drone. Ironically, these Hollywood depictions are usually true. This series is a short term trailer with a long term planning. Also, Pakistan is a hot potato so while not peel it. Remember, India's Bollywood dedicated entire 90's making anti Pak garbage that did nothing but killed Sunny Deol's career. Sounds like India's happy at Pakistan's predicament need know misery only spills around and loves company. Iran took it down with it Afghanistan. Afghanistan has brought Pakistan to it's knees and who will Pakistan consume?

This clearly shows how big a danger Americans think Pakistan really is........ atleast in the American public mind!
American media will never produce any story that the public is not interested in.
But however outandish the story may sound, it can suddenly become a reality if a nuke or even a dirty bomb is exploded in any US/European city by an islamic terrorist, that can be traced back to Pakistan.
Unfortunately for Pakistan, the CIA, MI-6 firmly believe, it's not a question of "IF" but "WHEN' that will happen!

Just remember who controls Hollywoood and the Wall Street. For them, it is important that before you destroy a country or kill its leaders, there must be enough propaganda in the air to destroy the reputation of the whole country and its leadership. Think Iraq & Saddam, and Afghanistan & Talibans. Now Iran and Syria. Next Pakistan, the crown jewel in the film! Has any of the destroyed countries achieved any sort of the peace they had before their destruction?

I think a time will soon come, when we should leave weapons and take over books to read. There are so many countries who do not have nuclear power but these are more developed than those who have nuclear weapons. Having weapons does make us more powerful and respectable. Having education, science, technology and good moral values make us powerful and happy.

Part of the State Depts psy ops war against Pakistan, I would just ignore it as another ludicurous US fantasy. They should have showed the US act criminally and hit a Pakistani city and then show, Pakistans response, first they wipe out the entire length and breadth of India, then start wiping out US bases in the gulf, as well as sea skimming Mirage V fighters carrying Nuclear weapons ramming aircraft carriers.

There is a scenario that no one has considered but should, because the US Think Tanks must have advised Obama. The US can always detonate a dirty bomb in one of their own cities and claim that it originated from Pakistan or Iran, just as they claimed that Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction and invaded Iraq. This would give them an opportunity to wipe out Pakistan, Iran or any other country and claim self-defence. This could be a reality

Keep wishing. If they could have done it they would have done it by now. Their problem is Pakistan will not go down without fighting. So far they are not able to isolate Pakistan the way they did with Iraq and Libya, not able to put sanctions, not able t completely destroy the economy (though successful in damaging it). They attack countries after many years of trade embargobut in case of Pakistan so far this has not worked. They have tried using India against Pakistan but India knows that stakes are high and misadventure can result in serious catastrophe for their own counry as well.

Pakistan has a negative image in the U.S, that much is true. Every country that has ever been viewed negatively in America has some sort of movie or tv show based upon it. Remember Curt Russel's Executive Decision released sometime in late 90s. 9/11 happened just on the same lines. Similarly, Media (film, print and TV) is considered to be the element of national power by the US has been consistently used in the past to force the viewers into their own way of thinking.
Closure of NATO supplies has obviously been a flashpoint for the lone superpower of the world, but this kind of desperate reaction can only happen in dramas and movies. Everybody knows the consequences of initiating a nuke strike against a country which has credible 2nd strike capability.

I think this movie has got a lot of things which hints that its the real plan in their devilish minds. I think so because the Hollywood or more precisely the minds controlling the USA is a strong, very clever and satanic group "The Freemasons" and when they start implementing the plan, the give some hints before. Like the 9/11 attacks, which they hinted in other movies and even cartoons very early. So, it should be taken seriously and i also accept that most of the Americans are really good human beings and they hate wars, they are soft and kind to others as depicted in the movie.
