NEW DELHI, Nov 21: Former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto will arrive here on Sunday to address a meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Monday, CII sources said on Wednesday, according to IANS website.

Ms Bhutto might use her visit to India to stage a political comeback in her country after years of exile in London and Dubai, industry sources here said.

“While it is not definite, we have been told that Benazir may go back to Pakistan after the four-day visit to India, beginning on Nov 25. Or else, she may return to Dubai and go on to Pakistan from there,” a senior industry official told IANS.

Ms Bhutto is visiting India at the invitation of the CII to speak on empowerment of women.

There have been media reports in recent months about Ms Bhutto’s possible return to Pakistan, where she is facing several criminal charges.

The visit to India would not only provide her the opportunity to interact with top government and opposition leaders but also help push the case of women, S. Sen, deputy director general of CII, told IANS.
