SHAISTA Zaid bade farewell to news reading on radio and television after over 40 years.
She read her last bulletin on Pakistan Television the other day while she had left Radio Pakistan a couple of years ago for health reasons.
Ms Zaid, in my opinion, is a national asset and fully deserves to be honoured by the two national broadcasting institutions and also by the state in a befitting manner.

A very good suggestion by Mr. Anis. Shaista Zaid has spent a lifetime serving PTV and Radio Pakistan. She deserves to be honoured by the PTV/Radio Pakistan and the state in an appropriate manner commensurate with her status.

She did a job she was paid for & she did it well. But let us not go over-board about making her into some kind of a 'hero'. .

In present Pakistan senario, it is Political patronage which is relevant, not merit or service to the nation.
