MINGORA: Swat receives shower

Published December 21, 2002

MINGORA, Dec 20: Swat on Thursday received heavy rain, the first of the season, with snowfall on the surrounding hilltops bringing a change to the weather.

The chilly weather kept most of the people indoors. There was a rush on the shops selling warm clothes.

It is recalled that the Kalam Valley has been receiving light shower for the last some days, compelling tourists to leave hotels and guest houses for homes.

Farmers had been praying for the rain for the last some months as they were unable to cultivate their farms due to dry weather.
