Three Bengalis held in Okara

OKARA, Dec 20: Rangers arrested three illegal Bangladeshi nationals on Friday from a passenger bus near Head Sulemanki.

The bus was going to Bahawalpur from Lahore when it was stopped by the Rangers at Head Sulemanki check post. During snap checking, Rangers arrested Muhammad Saleem, Makan Farid and Abubakar Siddique for residing Pakistan illegally for the last 13 years. All the arrested were residents of the district Chatak Matiana.

KILLED: A mechanic was buried to death on Friday beneath the trolley loaded with sugar cane while doing some repair work under it in the city, Deepalpur Chowk.

Muhammad Asghar was removing some fault when the trolley fell on him after its jack suddenly slipped. He died on the spot.

CRITICIZED: Representatives of various agriculture organizations, including Kissan Board president Malik Naseer, Ravi Farmers Association president Mehar Amir advocate, have criticized the government for imposing tax on five acres of land.

They have demanded that the government should withdraw the decision.
