SWABI, Aug 8: Three persons were shot dead over feuds in two separate incidents here on Wednesday.

The police said an exchange of fire between two groups erupted in the far-flung Naranji village which continued for a few hours in which two persons were killed. They were identified as Gul Nawaz and Zahir Ali. The former belonged to Gulzar group and the latter to Farhad group.

Locals were forced to rush for covers and remained inside their homes during the exchange of fire.

Javid Khan, brother of deceased Gul Nawaz, registered FIR in Kalu Khan police station against Gulzar Khan. He said the cause of the incident was an old enmity between them and Mr Khan group.

Registering FIR Farhad Khan, brother of deceased Zahir Ali, alleged that Bacha Hilal, Lal Zada and Sherin Zada opened fire over his brother killing him on the spot. He said the accused ran away after killing his brother.

In Batakara village, Asad Bahadar, who belonged to Topi city, was shot dead when he was on his way to home. The cause of the incident was stated to be an old enmity.

The brother of the deceased has registered an FIR against Qamar Zeb of Batakara in the Topi city police station.

GASTRO OUTBREAK: Contradictory claims were made on Wednesday about the control of gastroenteritis which broke out in the Gadoon belt a few days back.

District health authorities have declared that the medical teams have returned from the Gadoon region as the disease has been brought under complete control by the health officers and staff who remained there to provide necessary treatment to the patients.

They also advised the locals to adopt necessary precautionary measures in the prevailing monsoon season.
