SUKKUR, Dec 22: The chief minister, Sindh, Ali Mohammad Mahar, said that a science and technology research centre would be set up in Ghotki next year.

Mr Mahar said that the industrial units and multinational corporations (MNCs) in the district would be directed to recruit employees from the local population.

He said this while talking to various delegations in Khangharh on Saturday. The delegations had pointed out that the industrial units and multinational corporations in the district were not recruiting local people.

He said that he would keep a watch on the law and order situation and steps would be taken for the maintenance of law and order.

He said that the law and order was the top priority of the government and once it was controlled it could speed up the pace of economic activities and create a congenial and attractive atmosphere for the investors in Sindh.

He said stringent measures would be taken to control the activities of outlaws.

TWO INJURED: Two people, Imam Bux Mahar and Imamuddin, were seriously injured when the people opened aerial fire to welcome Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar in Khangharh on Saturday evening.

Both were taken to the Civil Hospital Sukkur.
