TEHRAN: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to attend the Non-Aligned Movement Summit where he will represent Pakistan. He will also hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of Iran and India.

President Zardari was received by Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar at the Mehrabad airport.

The president was accompanied by Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Zardari in a brief meeting at the airport appreciated the Iranian leadership for successful hosting of the summit.

He hoped the world leaders would be able to chart out a new course of action for organization, established in 1961.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, who is already in Tehran and held several bilateral meetings with a number of foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 16th NAM Summit, will join the president's delegation.

Zardari will hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines.

He is expected to use the multinational forum to project Pakistan's position on various international and regional issues.

President Zardari is expected to meet with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, whom he last met in April, during his day-long private visit to India, Foreign Minister Khar told APP.

Without giving any agenda, she hoped the talks would help the two countries move forward.
