CHARSADDA, Dec 24: The District Development Committee (DDC) has approved different development schemes and okayed Rs 16.5m for the purpose.

This was decided at a meeting of DDC presided over by District Nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan here on Tuesday. The meeting okayed Rs5.3 million for the construction of workshops in Tangi and Batagram here.

The meeting was attended among others by DCO Zaibullah Khan, Director of Works Qazi Hameedullah Khan, Planning Officer Mohammad Ilyas Khan and EDOs of education and finance. The meeting besides approving 10 new development schemes okayed Rs4.5 million for the repair of old and construction of new roads.

The meeting also okayed Rs6.7 million for the purchase of furniture for higher secondary schools in the district.  

Besides approving sanitation schemes for the union council, Ziam, Tarnab, Nisatta and Sarki, the meeting also approved construction of Tangi college road and a drainage scheme in Mulyano Kaley Uthmanzai.

Speking on the occasion, Naseer Mohammad Khan directed the officers that besides ensuring completion of the proposed schemes in time good quality of work should also be ensured.

He also called upon the officials of the Works Department to complete all legal formalities for the early construction and completion of the district headquarters hospital.
