SIALKOT, Aug 30: Chinese and Germans investors have shown keen interest in setting up 100MW solar energy plant here to deal with the ongoing power crisis.
President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Naeem Anwar Qureshi disclosed this while talking to newsmen at the chamber here on Thursday.
“A Chinese and a German investment company will reach here on Friday on and share their solar energy promotion plan for Sialkot industries,” he said.
“The time has come to solve problems on self-help basis. The likely investment by Chinese and German investors would definitely give a boost to Sialkot industries by helping resolve the power issue,” the SCCI president said.
Separately, Japan has shown keen interest in increasing the trade volume in favour of Pakistan, maintaining that it is high time for both countries to promote bilateral trade.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan Director Makoto Matsuda stated this while addressing the business community at the SCCI on Thursday.
Matsuda said that a high level delegation of leading Japanese investors and industrialists would soon visit Sialkot to ascertain the opportunities of doing business in different areas.
