KARACHI, Sept 10: Karachi ‘A’ and Hyderabad reached the final of the NBP Sindh Inter-Region U-16 Hockey Championship after clinching the top two spots at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) here on Monday.

Karachi ‘A’ defeated Karachi ‘B’ to claim the first place with 15 points, while Hyderabad won against Larkana to finish second in the standings with 12 points.

In the last of the league matches, Karachi ‘A’ beat Karachi ‘B’, Hyderabad beat Larkana and Mirpurkhas and Sukkur played a draw.

Karachi ‘A’ edged out Karachi-B 2-1. The goals for the winners were scored by Ehteshamuddin (14th min) and Taha Raza (16th min) while Abdullah of Karachi-B reduced the margin in the 41st minute.

In the other match Hyderabad, too, beat Larkana by a similar score line of 2-1. Larkana scored first through Abdul Qaseem in the 14th minute and Mohammad Osama (38th min) and Mohammad Ashraf (48th min) scored to win the match for Hyderabad.

Mirpurkhas and Sukkur drew 1-1. Osama Shaikh scored for Mirpurkhas in the fourth minute and Mohammad Faisal restored parity for Sukkur in the 13th minute.

The final will be played at the same venue on Tuesday at 4.00pm.—Sports Reporter
