DADU, Sept 23: Negotiations were held between office-bearers of the Primary Teachers Association (PTA) of Sindh and Provincial Minister for Education Sindh Pir Mazharul Haq on Friday night in a rest house of Sindh University in Jamshoro.

After a long discussion, it was decided that transfer orders of seven teachers of Dadu, who had been transferred some six days ago, were stand cancelled.

Teachers whose orders were cancelled included president of Dadu chapter of the PTA Ghazi Khan Jamali and its general secretary Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi; Mehar taluka chapter president of the PTA Aijaz Chandio and its general secretary Allah Ditto Vighio, press secretary Salim Raza Khoso; president of taluka Khairpur Nathan Shah chapter of the PTA Abdul Ghani Qureshi and Dadu taluka president of the PTA Abdul Rehman Panhwar.

President of all Sindh teachers’ association Rafique Ahmed Jarwar, press secretary Ghulam Mustafa and president of all Sindh primary teachers association, district Dadu chapter, Ghazi Khan Jamali attended the meeting.

The minister assured the PTA office-bearers that a committee would be formed comprising office-bearers of the Sindh PTA and the provincial secretary education to discuss the charter of demands of the teachers’ body.

After the assurance, teachers announced to end a strike scheduled on Monday in protest against the alleged inattention of the minister to their problems.

The PTA issued a white paper against the corruption in the education department of Sindh on Saturday and announced a protest demonstrations in all districts of Sindh on Sept 24.

On Sunday, Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq reached Dadu and visited Kakar and Piarogoth towns and addressed a public gathering.
