KARACHI, Dec 31: The St Patrick’s Cathedral has declared the year 2003 as its Silver Centenary Jubilee Year and the cathedral’s management is planning to hold special services and events throughout the year in 2003.

This was stated by the cathedral’s rector, Reverend Joe D’mello, during the midnight service, which was held on the New Year’s eve on Tuesday night.

The cathedral, which was constructed 125 years ago, has been declared as a protected monument because of its outstanding architectural beauty under the Sindh Cultural Heritage Protection Act.

Rev. D’mello urged the Christian community to assist the management of the cathedral in its efforts to rehabilitate and preserve one of the landmarks of the city.
