QUETTA, Oct 20: A demonstration was held here on Saturday in protest against the kidnapping of eye specialist Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan.

A large number of doctors and paramedics led by Pakistan Medical Associa-tion Balochistan chapter president Prof Dr Sultan Tareen gathered outside the Quetta Press Club and raised slogans against the lawlessness.

Addressing the protesters, Dr Tareen said that a mafia had been kidnapping doctors for ransom. He said that incidents of horrible crimes had been reported in the province, but no serious step was taken by the government to provide security and protection to doctors and other citizens.—APP
