LAHORE, Oct 22: The 8th National Women’s Karate Championship will be held here from Nov 9 to 11.

Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation namely Army, Wapda, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and the HEC will participate in the championship.

The competitions will be held in the following weight categories: Individual Kumite, Below 45kg, Below 50kg, Below 55kg, Below 61kg, Below 68kg, Above 68kg, Team Kumite, Individual Kata and Team Kata.

WAPDA will defend its title.

Winners of the championships will be selected for training camp from which a Pakistan team will be selected for the 12th South Asian Games to be held in India. A referee/judges course will also be conducted along with the championship.—Sports Reporter
