KARACHI: Aqeel Khan added more feathers in his cap as he clinched men’s singles and doubles finals of the NBP National Tennis Championship at the Karachi Gymkhana on Tuesday.

M. Abid showed good resistance but could not stop his experienced campaigner from winning.

In the men’s doubles final, Aqeel, along with his younger brother Yasir Khan, defeated M. Abid and Khalid Nazar.

Rida Khalid emerged as the new star in Pakistan tennis as she shocked Maheen Dada in the ladies singles final.

She outclassed her opponent in straight sets.

Talha Zubair claimed boys’ U-18 title while Dawar Rehan was the winner of boys’ U-14 category.

Former Test cricketer and senior vice president of the NBP, Iqbal Qasim, was the chief guest at the prize-distribution ceremony.
