KARACHI, Nov 2: Two Indians are set to feature in the 17th Pakistan international seniors’ tennis championship which formally gets into action at the Karachi Gymkhana courts on Saturday at 6.00pm.

According to organisers, the Indians are identified as Pawan Jain and Naresh Khatri. The latter is due to arrive here by Thar Express on Saturday while the former will reach Lahore from Delhi, also on Saturday, and flew here on Sunday at 8.00am.

It is pertinent to mention that the Indians have been frequently competing in the seniors’ tennis event in Pakistan. K. V. N. Murthy was the last Indian player who made his appearance four years back.

Competition will be held in 35 singles, 45 singles and doubles and 55 singles and doubles.

Jain, who is ranked 113 in ITF 45 plus ranking and had 130 points, has been seeded on top in the category.

He is followed by Pakistan’s former Davis Cupper and national coach Rashid Malik, who had 70 points under his belt.

The draws of the events were taken out at the premises on Friday.
