CHITRAL, Nov 3: Eight people were killed and five critically injured after their jeep fell into a stream near Mroi village on Saturday evening.

Police said that the accident took place after the driver lost control of the jeep.

They said that all 13 people on board except for three belonged to Yarkhoon valley of upper Chitral.

Police said that the dead people were driver Zafaruddin, Baiz Khan, Shabbir Khan, Faizuddin and Akbar Hussain from Yarkhoon valley, Zaman Khan and Khana Gul from Mohmand Agency, and Mohammad Afzal from Upper Dir.

They said that the injured and the bodies were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Chitral.

When contacted, the medical superintendent of the hospital said that the condition of all the injured except for one was critical. —Zahiruddin
