BADIN: Eight members of a Hindu family were killed in a road accident during the early hours of Monday near the Talhar town of Badin district.

The fatal mishap occurred near a cattle pen near Talhar town within the limits of the Tando Ghulam Haider Police Station, on the Badin- Hyderabad road, as the car fell into a roadside lake, reportedly due to over-speeding.

Three women and two children were among the eight killed, whereas two other persons sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to the Talhar Rural Health Centre where their condition was reported as critical.

Local police sources said that all victims belonged to the same Hindu community family which hailed from the Jamshoro district's Thano Bola Khan taluka.

After the completion of medico-legal formalities, the bodies were shifted to the towns where the victims hailed from for burial. — Reporting by Hanif Samoon
