KARACHI, Nov 13: Zohair Raza had to fight hard against Khalid Ali Nazar to qualify for the final of the Subh-e-Nau tennis championship at the KMC Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Khalid, who is a coach at the Karachi Gymkhana, displayed quality strokes in a match which lasted for over two hours. Zohair, however, did not succumb to pressure and won the match 7-6(7-4), 4-6 and 6-3.
In the other semi-final, Nomi Qamar beat Talha Zubair in straight sets.
In the boys’ U-14 quarter-finals, Bilal Imran Loya defeated Mohammad Dada after strong resistance from his opponent. Dada won the first set but went down in the remaining sets. Raza Sawani and Marib Malik were also victorious in the quarters.
