Multan Round

This year the first ever Multan Round of the Dawn Spelling Bee Championship 2012, were held at the Multan Arts Council on September 26, 2012, with the aim of facilitating the schools from Multan and other cities of Southern Punjab to participate in this prestigious competition in a place near them.

The schools, parents and students were overwhelmed with this initiative by Dawn and were thrilled to be a part of the Spelling Bee. 300 students of 40 schools from Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Burewala and Jhang participated in the Multan Rounds. Three students per age group qualified for the Lahore Regional Championship Final held on October 6th, 2012.

The details are as follows: 9-11 age group 1st Position: Ayesha Imtiaz, The City School, DG Khan 2nd Position: Shehreyar Khan, Lahore Grammar School, Multan 3rd Position: Waleed Irfan, Lahore Grammar School, Multan 12-14 age group 1st position: Haroon Rasheed, Bloomfield Hall Upper School, Bahawalpur 2nd Position: Ayesha Arif, The City School, Khanewal 3rd Position: Mariam Shakeel, The City School-Girls, Bahawalpur 15-17 age group 1st Position: Muhammad Ahsan Iqbal, Lahore Grammar School, Multan 2nd Position: Ayesha Afzal, Umm Al-Qura Public School, Bahawalpur 3rd Position: Fatina Munawar, Chenab College, Jhang
