PESHAWAR, Jan 9: Peshawar High Court promoted six additional district and sessions judges to the post of district and sessions judges here on Wednesday.

The notification for their promotion was issued in accordance with the decision of the departmental promotion/administrative committee in exercise of the powers conferred on it under the NWFP Judicial Services Rules, 2001.

The promoted judicial officers included: Sahibzada Khurshid Ahmad, Subhan Sher, Anwar Hussain, Syed Wajahat Ali Shah, Mohammad Tariq Wali and Mohammad Azim Khan.

After their promotion another notification was issued for postings and transfers of different judicial officers.

According to the notification the solicitor the NWFP law department, Mohammad Siddique Khattak has  been repatriated back to the high court and appointed as district and sessions judge, Haripur. On promotion Sahibzada Khursheed Ahmad will serve as district and sessions judge, Karak.

Subhan Sher has been transferred from D. I. Khan to Tank as district and sessions judge. The other promoted judges are appointed at different stations including Anwer Hussain at Hangu, Syed Wajahat Ali Shah at Dassu (Kohistan), Mohammad Tariq Wali at Batkhela (Malakand) and Mohammad Azim Khan at Daggar (Buner).

The other transferred judges are Mohammad Bashir Khan, district and sessions judge/zila qazi, Buner to Swabi and Mohamamd Ayub Khan, district and session judge, Hangu, to Alpuri (Shangla).
