MULTAN, Dec 11: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has claimed he will not take oath of the office of prime minister if it was administered by President Asif Ali Zardari, in case such a situation arises in future.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Khan said his party had decided to stay away from the recent by-election after they detected 13,000 bogus votes in a constituency, which were allegedly to be cast to the PML-N candidate.

Referring to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s recent speech in which he said that his party had made it possible for the PPP-led government to complete its tenure, Khan asked then why the Sharifs had raised the slogans of ‘Go Zardari Go’.

He said the flow of PTI ‘tsunami’ had temporarily been curtailed because of the party election, claiming the Layyah public meeting would be an eye-opener for those having any doubts about the party’s popularity.

He said the PTI did not need political heavyweights, adding that it only needed ‘ideological workers’.

Khan said as an honest DCO could change things in a district within days, the PTI too could bring a change in the country within 90 days of coming into power.

About the situation in Karachi, Khan said it could only be improved if the people of the port city refused to vote for those who believed in power of gun.

He said some elements were trying to create an impression that he was against a particular sect which was totally wrong.

He alleged that there was an understanding between the PPP and the PML-N with regard to verdict of Asghar Khan case, arguing that the statement of a federal minister that no investigations would be launched against Nawaz Sharif was a proof of this.

Earlier, at a public gathering at Manzoorabad, PTI chief said Nawaz Sharif was claiming he would make a new Pakistan but first he should make a new Punjab where his party was in power.
