KARACHI, Dec 12: Asghar Valika, chairman of the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF), on Wednesday paid rich tributes to incumbent joint secretary Arif Taherbhoy who will step down from the post on May 31, 2013 owing to family commitments.

“Taherbhoy, who joined the PBSF fold in June 1988, has served the organisation will sheer zeal and zest for quarter-of-a-century,” Valika said while speaking at the 32nd annual general meeting of the body at a local hotel.

He said the fraternity of the game, particularly, the PBSF, will miss the official for a long time to come and hoped the body will find a suitable replacement.

Earlier, Taherbhoy, 63, expressed his desire to relinquish the post on Dec 31 but agreed to extend the period to another five months due to staging of Asian Snooker Championship from April 26 next year in the city.—Sports Correspondent
