QUETTA, Dec 23: A strike was observed in Quetta on Sunday in response to a call by the Balochistan chapter of Awami National Party in protest against the assassination of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s senior minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour.

Trading centres and shops on Jinnah road, Shara-i-Iqbal, Liaquat bazaar, Prince road, Kasi road, Mission road, Surajganj bazaar and Circular road remained closed.

Speakers at a condolence meeting held in the Bacha Khan Markaz condemned the terrorist attack in which eight other people had lost their lives.

They vowed to continue their peaceful struggle against terrorism and extremism to protect people’s rights.The meeting paid tribute to Mr Bilour and said the late leader fought bravely against terrorism. They said ANP was on the hit list of terrorists, but it would not bow down before them.
