CHARSADDA: Six people including four children were severely injured following the explosion of an improvised explosive device planted near the roadside in Umerzai, DawnNews reported.

According to police sources, the explosive was planted along the road in Hajiabad area of Umerzai tehsil on Friday.

Following the explosion, the victims were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Charsadda for treatment. Later, four of the critically injured, including two children, were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

The administration of LRH informed that the injured were in stable condition and out of danger.

Meanwhile, in another incident, unidentified miscreants blew up the gas pipeline in Sardyaab area. No casualties were reported following the explosion. However, gas supply to many areas in Charsadda has been suspended.
