KARACHI, Dec 30: The president of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, has applauded national under-14 team’s performance in the recently-concluded Asian under-14 tennis team event at Doha.

“Displaying high quality performance, Pakistan seized bronze medal in the eight-nation tourney,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

The team comprised Nofil Kaleem, Dawer Rehan, Abdal Hyder and Muzammil Murtaza.

“The quartet played every match with true commitment and their keenness depicted the existing talent and passion in the country,” said the PTF chief, who watched their performance in Doha.

All in all Pakistan under-14 team played 15 sets and won nine which is remarkable, said Pakistan team coach, Kamran Khalil. The boys have talent and will hopefully excel in the days to come, he added.

The PTF chief demanded of the government and organisations to support the noble cause and come forward by sponsoring the up and coming tennis players who need to play the game in the country and abroad.—Sports Correspondent
