UNITED NATIONS, Jan 4: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon applauded on Friday Malala Yusufzai for her courage and determination and declared “we continue to work to ensure every girl will go to school”.

In a statement released through his spokesman as Malala left the Birmingham hospital where she was recovering from the gunshot inflicted on her by the elements of Tehrik-i-Taliban, Mr Ban noted: “Malala continues to inspire the people of Pakistan and the world with her courage, determination and example.”

“The secretary-general wishes Malala all the best as she moves further along the road of recovery and as we continue to work to ensure every girl can go to school”, the statement said.
