LAHORE, Jan 6: Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has condemned in strongest terms the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express in Bolan district of Balochistan and announced compensation for the victims.
Quoting the minister, a railways spokesman said on Sunday that a sum of Rs200,000 would be paid to the heirs of those killed, Rs100,000 to each seriously injured and Rs20,000 to each person got minor injuries in the terrorists firing on the Quetta-bound train.
Four people were killed and 10 others injured when militants from nearby mountains had ambushed the Jaffar Express (40-Down) between Panir and Peshi stations on Saturday.
The railways authorities have also increased police deployment on the section to ensure safety of passengers, said the spokesman.
