LAHORE: PPP’s veteran politician and its MNA from Naushahro Feroze Zafar Ali Shah called on PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday and exchanged views on political situation in the country.

The former deputy speaker of the National Assembly, who has been criticising his own party in the parliament for the past four years, did not formally announce his decision to leave the PPP and join the PML-N although many N-League leaders were expecting him to do so.

A PML-N leader insisted that Mr Shah’s meeting with Mr Sharif implied that he had joined the PML-N although no formal announcement had been made. The MNA has been in touch with Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali for a long time.

Having complaints against the PPP government about his constituency in Naushehro Feroze since the 2010 floods, his differences with the party intensified when his son was refused the party ticket in the recent by-poll.
