NEW DELHI: The Pakistani army's treatment of two Indian soldiers who were killed along the border in Kashmir was “inhuman”, Indian Defence Minister A K Antony said on Wednesday.
“Pakistan army's action is highly provocative. The way they treated the dead body of the soldiers, Indian soldiers, is inhuman,” he said after reports and military sources said one of the troops had been beheaded on Tuesday.
“We will convey our protest to the Pakistan government and our DGMO (director general of military operations) will talk to his counterpart in Pakistan. They are closely monitoring the situation,” he told reporters.

Just when the relationship sees a positive development there comes an irritant to derail the peace process. Pakistan army will never do such thing. There should be a thorough investigation to know the facts. It was first reported that Indian troops opened indiscriminate firing on Pakistan troops now it is Indian blaming the same on Pakistan troops. Conducting of India Pakistan cricket series in India was not digested by some quarters in India. Can there be a link between the two

I am an Indian and I visited Lahore in 2005. I was pleasantly surprised to see the love and hospitality of local Pakis. I can also vouch for most of our Indians who would never want such sort of border incidents. It's sad to read about such incidents happening along LOC. I must admit that sometimes I feel these are just political propaganda. It shows how distant we civilians are from our governments.

I think he is pretty close..some of the Indian politicians better be clear in their mind that the guys accross the borders are indeed not 'human'. Also occassional actions like these from the Pakistanis are actually good in clearing some Hindu minds about dreaming of 'normal' relationship. Instead of throwing civilised jargons picked up from western world ie 'unacceptable behaviour' , 'inhuman' and crying like a little girl, the Hindus should focus on paying these guys back in their own currency..thats the only trade they will acknowledge.

Come On Indian Army. You can do better than this rather than crying from a roof top. This is a matter of pride and honour for the Indian Army which anyway is least appreciated by the Cong Government. So my suggestion will be for you to send a Gorkha into their territory and he will come back with a Pak head; send an Assamese and he will come back with their heart and finally send the Madrasi and he will come back with their Genitals. Thats it. Matter solved and both the armies can go to their bunkers.

Until yesterday, the Indians claimed unprovoked fire by the Pakistani side. Their response resulted in one Pakistani soldier dead and another seriously wounded. Today, they are crying over the inhumane treatment of the Indian soldiers at the hands of the Pakistani side. How exactly did the Indian soldiers ended up in Pakistani hands as a result of long range artillery fire.
Did the Indians enter Pakistan? Yes, they did. What did they expect would happen to them if they were caught ?

People on both sides need to understand the timing of these border clashes. Armies on both sides get huge disproportionate amounts from the national budget because of the whole 'Enemy at the gates' scenario. Every time the political and cultural ties seem to head towards normalization these clashes take place. Maybe the Indians did fire, or maybe the Pakistanis tortured the Indian soldier. The only thing that surprises me is the timing of it all. As expected patriots from both sides start chanting slogans and the debate is over.

its high time for india to continue showing restraints on the affairs with pakistan.. i think they have given enough olive branches all this while with no trusted reciprocation from the other side.. looks to me that another kargil is on card and we all know what was the result and how humiliated pakistan was on the international front.. if they can't help themselves, least can india do.... as much as i respect indians official stance on its affairs with pakistan i somehow feel that they should have little bit of Israelite attitude in dealing with their western neighbour... fear can go a long way.

Just a thought, its very sad but after reading NFP, i think like him or may be i was thinking like him and he got influenced :) !!
Today end of play, if there is any mechanism to count number of people killed on South Asia's transport system like Roads, trains etc, due to fire or otherwise other hazards like terror activities. Or for that matter take a average of all the deaths in South Asia which occur every rainy season, how many people on an average get killed over a period of year?
Now look at the number of soliders getting killed in cross border fire, is it worth discussion, i leave it to u all people !!!

I see some very disturbing comments on this post from both sides. Just goes to show the kind of intolerance we have on both sides of the border. Whatever happened on sunday with Pakistani and Indian soldiers is sad. Whatever misunderstanding that led to this incident must not happen again. We all know how brutal our societies can be (Delhi rape or Shahzeb killing). Atleast the educated class should show a little bit more maturity and tolerance. Shame on all you guys who would just like to score a point, even over this.

i think if he was killed(if he really was) then it was due to the cross border firings which was from both sides.. could have happen to any indian soldier too.. its unfortunate that the poor pakistani soldier got in the line of the firing.. however what pakistani soldiers did was shameful.. they attacked a patrol party in the dark, went all the way across the LOC to the indian side, beheaded the martyred soldiers and took one of the severed head with them as trophy.... you should be thankful that israel is not your neighbor.

Just for your information, India has never done this to any Pakistan soldier, even during 1971 and 1999 Kargil, India buried all the dead bodies of Pakistani troops with respect. Fight like a warrior, you get respected like one, that is what Indians believe in.
