KARACHI, Jan 11: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that there is a threat to the life of Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and urged him to reconsider his plan for long march.

Mr Malik said he had authentic reports of a terrorist attack on Dr Qadri.

The minister said he was not saying that the TMQ leader could be attacked but he would be attacked and his statement was based on authentic reports.

In reply to a question, the interior minister said the TQM had not obtained permission for staging the long march and a sit-in in Islamabad, adding Dr Qadri should know how the law came into action when violated.
