HYDERABAD, Jan 17: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl who had been suffering from measles died on Thursday at the Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad.

The victim, identified as Irshada Hassan, was a resident of Berani area, Sanghar district.

According to the focal person of Liaquat hospital, Dr Rasheed Memon, three more children were admitted to the hospital on Thursday. They were two 10-month-old girls of the same name, Dua, and 15-month-old Ameer Ali.

Ameer Ali belonged to Tando Mohammad Khan district. One Dua was a resident of Paretabad area while the other lived in Sarfaraz colony in Hyderabad district. So far 48 measles patients have been admitted to hospital and out of them five have died while 31 have been discharged after treatment. Around 12 are receiving treatment.
