LARKANA, Jan 20: Police is still clueless about three persons Asad Ali Kehar, Majid Ali Kehar and Suhail Ahmed Bhutto who were allegedly kidnapped from the outskirts of Larkana while on their way to their village of Aghani on Jan 9.

The father of Sohail, Ahmed Bakhsh Bhutto who is a high school teacher in Naudero, told ‘Dawn’ on Sunday that his son, an M.A. final student, had gone to Larkana along with his two friends on a motorcycle to deliver guavas on Jan 9. Since then the three were missing and their cell phones were found constantly off, he said.

He said three days ago he met Larkana SSP Jawed Soonharo Jiskani after a local landlord, Rizwan Kehar, had phoned the SSP about the incident. “Though we have not received any phone call or demand for ransom, we believe that the three friends have been kidnapped,” Ahmed Bakhsh said.

“We are passing through indescribable pain,” he said, adding that they had been missing along with the motorcycle.

When contacted, Superintendent of Police Headquarters of Larkana Muhammed Nadeem labelled the incident as ‘missing’, saying that in typical cases of kidnapping, abductors must drop a call to relatives of victims or come in touch through other links. “In this case, we are clueless despite investigating the incident with different angles,” he said.

The Larkana SSP has constituted a team headed by SP Muhammed Nadeem, DSP Haidri Muhammed Ameen Khoso, DSP Akil Khan Tunio and SHO of Rehmatpur police station Waheed Abro to probe into the missing what he called so far a mysterious incident.

PROTEST: Protesting over the incident of kidnapping, a large number of people led by Zameer Kehar, Hazar Khan Aghani and Khadim Ghanghro held a demonstration and blocked the Larkana-Naudero road at ‘Aghani-diversion’ on Sunday.

They parked tractors and put trunks of trees on the road and burnt tyres to press police for the early and safe recovery of the kidnapped victims. They kept on raising slogans and refused to remove obstacles for three hours.SP Muhammed Nadeem rushed to the spot and held negotiations with the protesters at Mahota police station. He held out assurance that the victims would be recovered safely and asked them to register FIR with Market police station for further investigation.

They called off their protest when the SP assured them that the three persons would be recovered in three days.
