KARACHI: Terrorists’ plan to target a police officer was failed in Karachi’s Hawks Bay Road area on Monday morning when a planted bomb was detonated before time, DawnNews reported.

SHO Maripur’s police vehicle was targeted on Hawks Bay Road when he was expected to appear before a court. The untimely blast did not cause any casualty, however, the police vehicle was partially damaged.

Police reports suggest that around three kilos of explosive material was used in the attack. According to police officials they were being targeted for taking actions against “target killers.”

The incident spread fear among residents of the area.

Meanwhile, an absconder, involved in attacking president of the Malir Bar, was arrested two days after he had escaped from police custody on Friday.
