NAWABSHAH, Jan 19: Sugarcane growers of Nawabshaw will block the main railway track and stage a sit-in outside the Habib Sugar Mills gate on Jan 21.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the Sindh Abadgar Board, Nawabshah chapter, held on Sunday.
Sugarcane growers from all over the district attended the meeting.
They said federal and Sindh governments were doing nothing to resolve the row between growers and mill owners over fixing of sugarcane price.
They appealed to growers to take part in the protest.
The meeting was presided over by Syed Zain Shah.
RAIL TRACKS: The laying down of two railway tracks from Karachi to Peshawar would be completed within four years at a cost of Rs6 billion.
The federal minister for railways, Ghaus Bux Mehar, said this while talking to newsmen at the Khair Shah village on Sunday.
He claimed that the Pakistan Railways was running profitably and the ministry was planning to run special fast trains to facilitate the passengers.
He later addressed a convention of the PML-Q, Nawabshah, which appointed Syed Zahid Hussain Shah as its chief organizer of Nawabshah district.
