The Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s franchise-based Twenty20 league, received it first major setback as organisers announced that the planned start to the tournament had been pushed back from its March-April schedule.
According to an official Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) statement, the decision to postpone the league was made to accommodate the investors interested in buying the five franchises.
“The concerns expressed by the stakeholders on tight timelines for submission of bids & leveraging of assets, hold merit,” the statement said.
The press release further stated that 80 international players had signed for the PSL auction but the process of acquiring NOCs was still underway and would require time.
Furthermore, scheduling conflicts which arose after the PSL dates were announced could result in potential star players not being able to take part.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 26 March to 7 April and the delay is unlikely to instill any confidence in the league already blighted by safety concerns and a warning from the head of the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA) not to take part in the event because of the “unmanageable” security risk.

What a joke it is. It is pathetic to see PCB first begging a 3rd rated Bangladesh and other minows, then PSL dramma and now the delay. For God's sake why can we be honest to ourselves? No reputeable current player nor any team is going to trour Pakistan for the forseeable future. All the reputeable players have plenty of other opportunities to make big bucks. This is the fact and we have to accept it. In my humble opinion, like Zimbabwe, as a national team, Pakistan should take a sabbath for atleast 5 years from international cricket. Let Straighten our internal affairs at evel. reevaluate things after 5 years and go from there.

Pakistan must not pursue this matter because of its bruised ego. The reality is that pakistan has a grotesque law and order problem which it is not capable of controlling. Thus it would be inadvisable to pursue an international event in the country.

From Day 1, I have known about this drama.... The second setback will be when the organisers will announce that the League has been shifted to UAE for Security reasons......Pak is making itself a Laughing stock in front of this world......First Bangladesh shamed Pak by refusing to tour them and now this.....No sane person will even dream of organising a Cricket League in Pakistan when Bombs are going off every now and then killing scores of it's own citizens.....

The open secret is finally out. This is exactly what was expected and envisaged by global third party, neutral and impartial cricket scholars, experts, academics, analysts, players, fans, commentators, umpires, sponsors, administrators and others associated with cricket directly or indirectly, implicitly or explicitly, knowingly or unknowingly.
There is no way that the 'big brother' will allow any PSL to happen under the current state-of-the-cricket affairs wherein money walks and money talks as they say. Since the 'big brother' controls all channels of money coming into and going out of the global cricket avenues, PCB will have to endeavor very hard maybe from their teeth to say the least, in order to make PSL happen. The sooner PCB realizes this cold and hard fact of life in global cricket, the better.

Though this is not good news now, however, at the very beginning suh an event should not have been planned.The govt. is sleeping...it has failed to protect its citizens and even its own law enforcers in Pakistan..FIRST PRIORITY .Please drastically improve the law and order situation, before inviting foreign guests.

What a load of @#$%. Why can't you be honest. Everyone knows the situation in Pakistan. This comes as no surprise. Always a smoke screen. You want the situation to improve, you have to start being honest with yourself and the people of Pakistan, there is no shame in that. You need to know where you stand, so you can focus on what needs to be done to move forward.

PCB got a lot of guts keeping the tournament right on schedule with the IPL in its sixth edition, not to forget that every part of the country is blowing up part-by-part. Fair to say, Pakistan is doomed. They are foolish if they think that the tournament is going to get done without any glitches, assuming it even begins in the first place!

We Appreciate Mr. Zaka Ashraf that he wanted to revive cricket in pakistan so that is very good job for him and i will say that IPL is fake cricket and they don't give the super star their hospitality they only want to get advantage from them for earn and we give them hospitality and also we request them and come let's play with us we are greater then indian nation and we have a big Emotions because we have suffered from very dangerous attacks and now when we are safe so why they are avoiding from pakistan.... i request all player that we have so much talent and we will give you good packege from indian so kindly don't leave us alone. thanks.
