PESHAWAR, Feb 28: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has asked entrepreneurs in the country to come forward and invest in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, especially in its industrial and mineral sectors, and contribute to socio-economic uplift of the country. He said that the government would provide security to the investors.

The governor said this while talking to a joint delegation of entrepreneurs representing the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fata Chamber of Commerce and Industry, All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association and All Pakistan Marble Exporters Association besides various bodies of Anjuman-i-Tajran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at the Governor’s House here on Thursday.

“I am going to create one-window operation facility at the directorate of mineral and industrial development of Fata Secretariat to facilitate potential investors,” he said.

Mr Shaukatullah said that the government would welcome workable proposals from industrialists and investors to make its efforts result-oriented.

He said that the government would launch a first project of natural gas supply in one of the areas of Fata within a week.

He said that that government was taking steps for improvement of law and order situation and maintenance of peace would ensured with the active support of people of Fata to facilitate the investors.

Responding to points raised by Zubair Ali, FPCCI vice-president on behalf of the delegation, the governor said that efforts were afoot to ensure availability of infrastructure facilities, especially the provision of electricity.

Mr Shaukatullah said that establishment of Fata Investment Bank was now a matter of months. He said that he was reviewing the pace of progress on establishment of marble city in Mohmand Agency.

Fata Development Authority chief executive Shah Sahib and heads of various departments of Fata Secretariat were also present on this occasion.
