SWABI, March 13: ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ was the slogan of the ‘spring festival’ held on Wednesday at the ground of School System Swabi. The school is affiliated with the Islamic International University Islamabad (IIUI).

For the first time the children had the opportunity to experience something, which they only wished for a long time.

The ground of the school was filled with children, their family members and friends. Children seemed enthralled with the idea and the arrangement of jumping castle, magic show and educational drama.

“We are very happy here and really grateful to the school for giving us something so nice at such reasonable and nominal prices,” said a visitor. Entry ticket was only for Rs20. “When we were coming we had no idea what we would see but when we entered the venue and saw the decorations we realised it’s going to be something special,” added another lady. An eye catching and mouth watering ‘food corner’ added to the hue of festivity.

Children took part in games, sack races and tug of war. Boys flew kites joyously with their painted faces and girls sprawled along the beautifully decorated stalls with mehndi on their hands.

However, along with the entertainment, the educational vision of the school was not ignored. For the orientation and convenience of the crowd a book corner was arranged with books on history, religion, culture and folk stories. The event management received great applause.
