LAHORE, March 13: Four more Guinness World Records were registered on Wednesday, the second day of the Punjab Youth Festival which is being organised by the Sports Board Punjab.

With the addition of these four records, the tally of the world records set during the festival for entry into the Guinness Book jumped to 21.

Mohammad Rashid of Karachi, who had broken two world records on Tuesday, created another on Wednesday. With blows of his elbow he broke 68 one-inch thick pine boards in one minute. His next target is to set a record for breaking pine boards in a 30-second slot.

Kevin Shelley (USA) held the previous record of breaking 43 pine boards in one minute. He set it in Nov 2008 at Disney's Wide World of Sports, in Orlando, Florida. Shelley also holds the record of breaking 32 pine boards with his forehead in 30 seconds. It was set at El Show Olímpico in Mexico City, Mexico, on July 30, 2008.The paint swatch created by SBP was also declared another world record. It measured 84.31 square feet while the previous swatch measured 6.31 square metres (68 square feet), and was created by PPG Pittsburgh Paints (USA) at Market Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 1, 2011.

Pakistan Test cricketer Rana Navedul Hasan set a record of his own record when he faced 45 balls in a minute, dwarfing former English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff who had managed to face 19 deliveries in the same time span.

Another mass participation record, in which mostly young people took part, was set for Guinness Book when 1,450 people simultaneously held arm wrestling contests, breaking the previous record of 1,018 people. The previous record was set by the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School (UK) in Elstree, Hertfordshire, on March 23, 2012.
