QUETTA: Three Awami National Party (ANP) workers were killed in a firing incident in Pishin district of Balochistan on Sunday.

Police sources told Dawn.com that motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire on ANP workers in Killi Karbala village of Pishin district.

Two ANP workers were killed on the spot whereas another worker suffered serious wounds and was rushed to hospital. He later succumbed to his wounds.

One suspect was arrested on the spot who was shifted to Pishin town for interrogation, police sources added.

The bodies of the ANP workers were shifted to civil hospital in Pishin for postmortem.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.

This incident has come hours after a low intensity blast during National Party's public meeting in Turbat.

Turbat explosion

A minor explosion took place at a political rally in Turbat on Sunday which was followed by reports of firing.

A rally of the National Party chief Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was underway in Turbat when a cracker blast occurred.

Secretary General of the party Mir Tahir Bizenjo said that there was no loss of life in the incident and that the National Party chief and other leaders were safe.
