Militant ambush kills four security personnel in Waziristan

PESHAWAR: A convoy of security forces was ambushed with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Miraali area of North Waziristan in which four security personnel were killed and four others were critically injured.

A security official told Dawn.com that exchange of fire continued between security forces and militants near the Khwaja Khar checkpost in Mir Ali district of North Waziristan region.

In another incident clashes between militants and security forces in Orakzai tribal region's Dabori area injured three security personnel. Three suspected militants were also killed during the exchange of fire, security sources told Dawn.com.

Moreover, security forces conducted a raid operation in Frontier Region (FR) Kohat of Darra Adamkhel and arrested three suspected militants.

Security sources said a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the arrested suspects.

In another incident, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel on Sunday defused a bomb in Bazeedkhel near Badaber area in the outskirts of Peshawar.

BDS official Abdul Haq told Dawn.com that 10 kilograms of explosive material was used in the making of the bomb.
