LARKANA, April 27: Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has held retired Gen Pervez Musharraf equally responsible for the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and expressed the hope justice will be served to the PPP in the ongoing trial against the general.

He called for launching a probe against all the officials who had ordered washing off the blast scene and those who carried out the order.

Addressing a number of corner meetings in Lahori mohalla, Karmabagh and other localities here on Saturday, Mr Khuhro accused what he described as undemocratic and unpopular forces of threatening election process.

But, he said, the peoples’ court was stronger than the establishment and Supreme Court together and it would give its verdict on May 11 to silence all the detractors.

Mr Khuhro who is in the run for PS-36 (Larkana-II) said the undemocratic forces were products of dictators and they were busy manoeuvring to come to power by dividing people into communities. But they would surely fail, he said.

He claimed the 10-party alliance was being backed by the GHQ but even if it were a 40-party alliance it would have utterly failed to beat the PPP in election.

The alliance was already overtaken by confusion because Pir Pagara was concentrating on saving the PML-N, he said.
