PESHAWAR: A political gathering of ANP candidate Amir Rehman for PK32 was targeted on late Sunday evening in Swabi, one child has been killed while 13 people have been injured.

People were coming back from a corner meeting of Amir Rehman when they were targeted.

District Police Officer Dr Mian Muhammad Saeed confirmed that the ANP candidate's convoy was targeted with a roadside bomb but he remained safe.

One child died while seven people were injured in the blast, according to hospital sources. The injured were brought to the Ceena Hospital.

The DPO said that they have reports that five people including a policeman had been injured.

He also confirmed that the bomb exploded near the Rehman's vehicle.

Amir Rehman had won the 2002 elections form Swabi on a ANP ticket and is contesting again form PK32 Swabi-2.
