PESHAWAR: An explosion near the election office of Awami National Party (ANP) in Charsadda's Sardheri Bazaar area injured three party workers on Monday, DawnNews reported.

Mohammad Ahmed Khan, ANP's candidate from Charsadda's PK-17 constituency said that party members and security fired upon the suspected suicide bomber who blew himself pre-maturely before he could strike any target, as a result of which a major disaster was averted and only three party workers were injured.

A attack occurred near the venue of a rally of the ANP which was suspected as the apparent target of the attacker.

However police and local sources told Dawn.com that the number of persons injured in the incident was 12.
